Which auto manufacturer / country was the first to put GPS units in cars? Japan? US? Germany? Anyone know? Obviously we’re talking as standard equipment options, not just customized James Bond type alterations.

I am stationed in Japan and I bought a truck with the exchange overseas auto sales program. I am a Nebraska resident and I will be stationed in Texas. The truck is being delivered to a dealership in Texas. I am not planning on becoming a Texas resident.
